A Tree Planted By The Waters…

When we turn our heart away from the Lord, nothing good can be manifest. We keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and live by His Ways, His Truth and His Life, if we live by man, the flesh, if one has ever lived this way the truth of that life is well known. Living by the flesh, by mans ways, is the path of ruin.

Thus says the Lord:
Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord. ~ Jeremiah 17:5 NKJB

The picture is quite clear. Once our heart departs from the Lord, we will only find pain that can not be soothed. Fire that will burn everything in its path and misery without end. Ask anyone living outside of God’s view. Ask anyone that is living out their sinful life and let them explain how little joy can be found in their home, with their family or within their immediate community.

For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited. ~ Jeremiah 17:6 NKJB

We need only turn our heart, our eyes and mind, back to Jesus Christ, our Lord, to be filled with joy beyond measure. The arson we have committed will be forgiven and the misery will subside. The damage we have caused always takes time to be repaired, to be rebuilt, but through the mercy and grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ all that matters to our lives will be restored.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord. ~ Jeremiah 17:7 NKJB

We shall know what it means to have Living Waters flow through our veins. The people in our life, most of which will not know the one who has been put to death, the people that know the new creature will see the love of our Lord in his heart, feel the love of our Lord in his eyes and experience the love of our Lord through the actions in his mind.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit. ~ Jeremiah 17:8 NKJB

Once we experience the love of our Lord we will always want for more. We will want to taste of the fruit of the Vine as the branch can only produce as the Vine’s life giving sap flows into the branch. We love You, Lord. We want for more of You in our veins. We want for more of You in our heart and we want for others to experience You in our actions.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
